What the number can tell you
Every UK phone number sits in a block that Ofcom allocated to a specific phone company. That register is public, and it's what this site is built on. From a dialling code alone you can learn the area a landline is registered to, the network a mobile prefix was issued to, and whether a range is standard rate, free or premium.
You'll notice what we don't claim: names of individual callers. Sites that promise that are guessing, scraping, or relying on unverified user reports. We'd rather show you the official data and be straight about its limits.
What it can't
Caller ID can be spoofed. A scammer can display a genuine bank switchboard number while dialling from anywhere in the world. So treat any lookup, ours included, as one piece of evidence. The question that actually protects you is what the caller asked for. Money, PINs, one-time codes or remote access mean hang up, every time.
